Studying light and sound at FRS
Fairbanks Road School first-grade science teams used creativity and simple materials to build devices to communicate over long distances. They demonstrated their inventions to classmates and peers from another class who were preparing to learn the same science standard unit on light and sound waves. Many of the constructions combined flashlights, light bulbs, mirrors, code clickers, translucent papers, magnifying glasses or cardboard tubes for sound amplification. Team members took turns explaining how each part was designed to solve the problem.
